FAQ

What can a sport psychologist offer me?

Psychology support can help you to overcome any setbacks you face and provide you with effective coping strategies as you work towards your goals and targets you want to achieve. Every athlete or team are looking to gain those extra few percent’s to improve performance and psychology in sport is one that can have a big impact when utilised in an effective manner.

How long does each session last?

Each individual session is 50 minutes, this includes pre competition and post competition sessions. Catch up sessions normally last 30 minutes and workshops can last 40 -90 minutes.

What can I expect from you during a session?

Your session is all about you and will be tailored to your individual needs, where I will guide you through relevant topics to help you. Sessions also include creating a personalised tool kit to support your performance.

What will the session involve?

Our sessions will give you space to talk about your experiences. This helps you to recognise your own sticking points. I will listen to understand how you are feeling and we can work together to identify strategies that can help. In the session we can look at how to utilise these strategies and dive into how they can aid your performance. The strategies we cover can also be used outside of your sport in other areas of your life too.

How many sessions will I require?

This is different for every individual and what they require. As an example, I usually work with individuals for 6 sessions. Some people require more and others less. I also have individuals that have a catch-up session after, every few months. One thing I can guarantee is that once we have worked together that relationship will never end as I will always check in to see how everything is going.

Is it better to have sessions online or in person?

This is your personal preference or where you are based. Some clients prefer face to face and others like online. The international athletes I have worked with have been online for logistical reasons. A hybrid approach has also worked with other clients and their busy schedules.

Who is suitable for this service?

I work with athletes, coaches and teams of all levels and backgrounds. I work with these from the age of 12+. This includes recreational exercisers, grassroots sport participants, and amateur to elite athletes.

How much will a session or a group of sessions cost?

A 30-minute consultation is free and there is no obligation to continue with sessions from there. An individual 50-minute session costs £45, but different pricing options are available depending on what support you require.

Workshops range from 40-90 minutes and prices begin at £120, these can be adapted to meet your needs and different pricing options are available to suit this.
